To put on your wig and ensure that it is fully secure on your head, you will need at least 10 to 15 minutes. There are 6 steps that you need to follow to put on and fully secure a full lace wig.
Firstly, you need to shampoo and deeply condition your natural hair. Now, for the second half of the first step, you have to braid your natural hair in pieces to make sure that they do not come out when you are wearing the wig.
For the second step, you will need to have a black, nude or skin-colored wig cap. You need to place it on top of your natural hair to completely flatten it and to provide a smooth base for your wig. Now, you need to prep for the wig.
Thirdly, you have to apply glue to your hairline. You are required to apply glue in such a way that when you place the wig, it is completely secure. How well your wig is put on and secured highly depends on your application of the glue. Applying glue to your hairline takes approximately 5 minutes. For the next and the fourth step, you have to deal with the combs that are placed on the inside of the wig cap. This step is holding a ton of importance as this will secure the hair underneath. Again, this process should absolutely not be rushed. The combs on the inside of the wig cap will secure the hair that is underneath the wig cap and the combs at the back of the wig cap will ensure that the back of the wig cap is fully secured with your neck.
The fifth step deals with the drying of your hair. This process usually takes about 8 to 10 minutes. It is recommended to tie a bandana around your wig as this will ensure that the wig is absolutely and completely secured as you blow-dry your hair and style it as you wish. This keeps your wig locked and loaded.
The sixth step and also the final one deals with the styling of your full lace wig. How you decide to style it is completely your own choice and the time that is taken varies from style to style. You can choose to straighten your hair, curl it, pin it up and various other styles. Hence, the time taken to put on and completely secure a full lace wig is approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
You can style your wig before you put it and secure it on your head. You can place your wig on top of a mannequin, wash, dry, straighten or curl your hair and style it according to your liking. Your wigs can stay on top of your head with little or no inconveniences for about 7 till 10 days. You might have to reapply the glue in certain areas during this time period, but usually, that is it. You do not have to face any major inconvenience with your full lace wig.
